Royal St. Gallery
Royal St., in the French Quarter of New Orleans, is one block closer to the Mississippi river than Bourbon St. While Bourbon delights visitors by night Royal St. captivates everyone by day with it’s architecture dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. 13 blocks of picturesque shops, art galleries and hotels fill every nook and cranny along the way.
Spending the day walking down this street, wandering through the art gallery doors, in awe of my surroundings have made for many perfect days. With each visit I’m inspired by all I see and often find myself daydreaming about it’s early days. Each one of my paintings captures a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in, taking in all the flavor of my surroundings. It’s up the viewer to decide if the painting is one set in the present or 300 years ago.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
