Houmas House After Dark ArtBlock
‘Houmas House After Dark’ ArtBlock
Touring this grand estate during the day is nothing short of breathtaking but walking the grounds at night elevates the entire experience to magical. Amber light dances off the surface of the grounds, glistens through the splashes of the water fountains and just when you think it can’t get any better, you walk along the path to see the tree canopy open up, revealing the sky lit up in purple hues, leading dusk into night.
This 1880’s Antebellum style sugar cane farm in Darrow, Louisiana is the crown jewel of Louisiana’s River Road. Houmas House & Gardens sit on an expansive 38 acres of gardens featuring old oak trees draped in resurrection fern, fountains and water features including a large reflecting pond that two white swans call home and it’s all surrounded by the most exquisite season plantings of flowers as far as the eye can see.
What’s An ArtBlock?
A handmade product lovingly created in my studio using one of my paper prints mounted on a 6”x6”x1.75” solid block of stained poplar wood.
How do Display an ArtBlock?
ArtBlocks can be displayed sitting on a shelf or can hang aided by the routed key hole slot on the back which allows the block to sit flush to the wall.
