Fresh Pick

from $15.00

The Southern charm and nostalgia of a mason jar has long interested me. Growing up with grandparents canning and pickling their fresh picks to enjoy year round was a part of my childhood. Today those mason jars are like a window to my past, reminding me of those humble days and how sweet they were. Filling a jar with water and freshly cut flowers is fulfilling but seeing the light reflected off of it’s glass warms my heart.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
